Typ samolotu to Embraer 175 Polskich Linii Lotniczych LOT SP-LIN; miejsce 13D. Nazwa obszaru, w którym widać niknącą noc i nadchodzący dzień to terminator.

English text

I took the photographs on 16 November 2018 during my morning flight from the Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport to the Chopin Airport (Warsaw-Okecie). The flight number was LO3804, seat 13D and plane Embraer 175 SP-LIN, LOT Polish Airlines. The equipment employed was Fujifilm Finepix S, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 and Samsung Galaxy 8.

Terminator (twilight zone, grey line) is a moving, curved, wide band (line) of twilight: either dawn or dusk. In other words, there is daytime and night time on both sides of the terminator. A longer expression for the phenomenon is a borderline between the night and the day. For clarity, the occurence of the line observed on the Earth is called solar terminator because this phenomenon also occurs on other planets, not necessarily lit by the Sun.

The solar terminator is diffuse because the sunlight is spread in the atmosphere, where particles hover and reflect the light in various directions (the atmosphere bends light; that is why a little more than half of the Earth is covered in sunlight; apart from polar regions, the terminator passes through any point of the surface of the Earth twice a day).

On the right side of some of the photographs the incoming day is visible, while on the left you can see the withdrawal of the night. Planet Venus, which poets call the morning or evening star, may also be discerned.
