Farman F-68 Goliath Parachute Training In Interwar Poland

This is, of course, not the part of a circus show, but simply parachuting training by using a French built Farman F-68 Goliath. The sheer size of the aeroplane as well as a special stand for the parachutist is visible to advantage. Having climbed from the fuselage onto the wing a parachutist would pull their rip-cord while still standing on the wing. The parachute opened in the horizontal position, pulling him or her off the wing (metoda zrywu w szkoleniu spadochronowym – this is the Polish expression for the method).
Other photographs in this gallery show two airmen under the canopies of their parachutes. It is probable, that they have jumped from an RWD-8; see the article Samolot RWD-8 w szkoleniu spadochronowym, magazyn Spadochroniarz nr 87 (3/2017) published by Zwiazek Polskich Spadochroniarzy (Polish Parachutists Association). The parachutes appear to be either Irving or Legionowo.
