Polish pre-war army mounted troops of 5 Pułk Strzelców Podhalańskich and 22 Pułk Artylerii Lekkiej exercise jointly in Przemyśl about 1938. Most of the second lieutenants wear coats with podhalanka badges (swastikas superimposed on fir twigs). Note that there are several different English translations of the names of the regiments, such as 5 Mountain Rifle Regiment, 5 Podhale Rifle Regiment, 5 Highland Rifle Regiment,5 Podhale Rifles; 22 Light Artillery Regiment, 22 Horse Artillery Regiment. Also, various abbreviations are used e. g. 22. PAL or 22 pal. Włodzimierz Wołyński, Gródek Jagielloński, Tarnopol and Rzeszów are associated with this horse artillery regiment apart from Przemyśl.
