A stairway in the forest? Well, yes... These photos reveal the remains of Fort IXa Przy Krzyżu (By the Cross) in Ujkowice near Przemyśl. The ruins have almost completely been covered with bushes and creepers, which give the brick and concrete structure a mysterious appearance. The inscription KuKF on one of the loose bricks means, that it was made for an Austria-Hungary fortress, in this case for number IXa fort of The Fortress of Przemyśl.
